"A go-getter, trend-setter, and passionate change-maker for the Environmental Movement in the world, Lindsey Kayman and her EEF team are leading the way in education and outreach, and with them at the helm, we can be assured that the world will be a greener, better place." - Nancy Rhodes, New Encompass Opera
"Film, like no other medium pulls people in and helps them see and feel an issue, opening them up to understanding nuances that otherwise takes so much more time to grasp. As we live and experience climate change, we all must role up our sleeves and get to work. The Environmental Education Fund is a wonderful resource that is easy to use and cost effective. It provides the tools for event planners and organizations to reach audiences quickly; helping them: grasp issues, facilitate discussion, move people to action and provide hope." - Harriet Shugarman, Found and Executive Director of ClimateMama
"As our first attempt to conduct a movie associated with the I2SL Annual Conference, we had at least 40 enthusiastic viewers and highly appreciative responses throughout the conference from the viewers. As our ERG staff provided popcorn and lemonade, it was like the Uptown Theater here in DC! Really, it went so well we want to do it again in San Diego with another great documentary.”
- Phil Wirdzek, President and Founder of International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories (I2SL) "Lindsey Kayman, CIH, LEED AP is EEF’s President and has redefined and expanded EEF’s mission, partnering with us and reaching thousands of people with the message of sustainability." - Metro NY American Industrial Hygiene Association |
"The film festival was a great success. The room was full for most of the time I was able to attend. It covered a wide variety of environmental topics and engaged students on many levels. Many of the students I knew who participated were very moved and excited by what they learned. Information from the films showed up in work that was later done in my classes. One student who said he had given up hope said that one of the films inspired him to pursue a professional career. Students were also inspired by the graduate student Lindsey brought in who was working on environmental issues in the students’ communities. One of the films was about how NY Harbor used to be the oyster capital of the world and about current efforts to re-establish oysters. As a result, some faculty members and their students visited the school where oysters are being grown to re-stock NY Harbor ( the Billion Oyster Project) and an ongoing collaboration was established." - Joan Hoffman, Professor at John Jay College
“It made the conference so much more meaningful for me.”
- Pam Greenley, Associate Director, MIT Environmental Health and Safety "The third annual EcoCinema festival was once more a great success! The festival makes a great difference to John Jay students, faculty and employees and serves as an anchor every Spring semester to bring the College community together around environmental issues, and to grow everybody's awareness of the pressing issues we need to address. The films and speakers EEF make available to the College are an invaluable resource for faculty to educate their students and to start and expand crucial discussions in and out of the classroom. The number of attendees continues to grow every year, and, as in previous years, I have received extremely positive feedback from both faculty and students." - Alexander Schlutz, Associate Professor at John Jay College
